Course aims

Give students knowledge to comply comprehensive and large-scale digital documents using computers. Give an overview about the techincal side of different presentation tools to introduce the presentable materials properly to vast audiences. The course will give an overview about composing comprehensive texts, creating joint writings, complying transparencies, different presentation programs, using graphics in various tasks and the finalization of assignments. Creating group works, assignments connected with group works and solving group works will be analyzed separately. In all cases, the correct desing and choice of syle is emphasized. The materials will be introduced using simple (e.g. office software) programs.

Brief description of the course

Complying large-scale documents and problems concerning the documents. Adding the table of contents. Assembling needed styles. The transparencies of projectors and assembling of them, different presentation programs, drawing up tests using office software programs, using graphics in different tasks and the finalization. Creating group works, assignments connected with group works and solving group works will be analyzed separately. In all cases, the design of learning tools, choice of style, emphasizing the utmost important information and the choice of subject group is emphasized. The main part of the course will compose of practical work (in which case, the active co-operation by the students is crucial). In addition, each student must – individually or as a group work – present a set of works that determine the final grade.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
After participating in this subject, the student will be able to
• Using the computer, compile comperhensive, correctly formated materials.
• Add graphical elements (pictures, graphs, diagrams, animation, videos).
• Has an overview on the technical aspects of presentation tools and is able to use them.
• Is able to create large-scale documents as group work.
