Course aims
Create opportunities to understand and implement user experience principles and work process; develop students` skills to conduct user research and usability testing; to get experience in prototyping and the design thinking work process using the example of user interface development.
Brief description of the course
Principles and practices of user experience design. Design thinking. Conducting design research: problem formulation, user research, data collection and analysis. Working methods of interacting with users: persona, empathy map, scenario, user journey, user story, etc. Generating and prioritizing ideas. Creation of user interface information architecture and low-detail prototyping, usability testing and feedback collection. Design audit.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the principles of user experience design and applies them in the work process of creating user interfaces;
- conducts user research and usability tests according to the principles of user-centered design;
- knows the principles of prototyping and design thinking and applies them when creating a user interface.
