Course aims
To obtain basic knowledge of and practical skills in user-centred design process and basic methods.
Brief description of the course
Introduction to user interface design. Design process. Background studies. Personas. Scenario-based design. Testing scenarios with users. User stories and storyboarding. Prototyping. Usability testing.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the design process;
- can choose appropriate methods for involving stakeholders in the software design process;
- can create an initial task – personas, scenarios and user stories;
- can create and test prototypes; knows the principles of usability;
- knows the main methods of usability testing.
