Course aims
The purpose of the course is to acquaint the students with the basic concepts and methods of narratology, i. e the study of narratives, and to practise their application to particula texts. Besides literary fiction, non-fictional and cinematographic narratives are discussed.
Brief description of the course
The course elucidates various aspects of narratology: story, narration, text, time, narrator, addressee, point of view, characters, narrative media (literary genres, cinema). The theoretical part restes mainly on the conceptual framework of classical narratology.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has learnt to recognize, discribe and analyse various aspects of narrative poetics.
