Course aims
To give an overview of history and culture of the ancient and middle era Turkic nations. To prepare a stundent for writing a proseminar as well a bachelor's theses in the aforementioned field. To give students necessary preliminary knowledges for attending Turkish Culture I in Tallinn University, also for attending futher subjects connected with the ancient and middle era Turkic nations in the other universities.
Brief description of the course
In the subject history and culture of the ancient and middle era Turkic nations will be dealt. Of the ancient Turkic nations an overview of the history and culture of Huns, of the middle era Turkic nations an overview of the history and culture (an administrative system, an art, a literature, a science, a faith) of Old Turks, Uighurs, Oghuzes, Seljuks, Karakhanids etc will be given. In 3 seminars presentations about the aforementioned field will be listened.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has necessary skills enabling them to write different research works up to the bachelor's theses about the field, also necessary knowledges making possilbe attending futher lectures about the field.
