Course aims
To provide a general overview of Middle Eastern history and culture.
Brief description of the course
Middle Eastern countries and nations, their political systems, religions, peculiarities of culture, distinctive and similar features in historical development. Beginning of Islamic teaching, its development and Islam today. Islam ethics and philosophy in Arabic and other countries. Islam among different Middle Eastern countries. Correlation between religion and sects in Islam. The Middle East and the less widespread religions, pagan religions, branches of religions. Mythology and culture of conduct of Middle Eastern nations.
