Course aims
To acquaint students with the peculiarities of undergraduate research papers.
Brief description of the course
Subject, aim, problem of research. Personal contribution. Secondary sources. Structure of the research paper. Plagiarism. References (MLA style). Academic English. Logicality. Layout and organisation of the paper.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is aware of the MLA system of reference;
- is ready to approach an academic topic logically;
- is able to evaluate primary and secondary sources.
