Course aims
Getting to know and observing the work processes of the placement organisation; understanding the objectives of the activities, the methods of their achievement and the end results; development of analysing skills; fulfilling simpler practical tasks related to French language and culture.
Brief description of the course
Beforehand: finding the placement organisation, negotiations; acquiring the acceptance for the placement organisation from the university supervisor; familiarizing oneself with the introductory information and with the documents regulating the placement; compiling a self-evaluation (expectations). During the placement: getting acquainted with the placement organisation and fulfilling various duties (in the scope of 10 working days), the tasks and timetable depending on the specific character of a placement organisation, their needs and agreements between the trainee and organisation. Compiling a placement diary. Achieving and fixating the set objectives. Afterwards: reading the literature, self-analysis (reflection), compiling the placement portfolio, participation in the final seminar.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to see links between theoretical courses and practical tasks;
- is able to use received knowledge and developed skills for fulfilling tasks;
- analyses with the help of a supervisor the individual learning and development process and own activities in correspondence with the set objectives and the regulating documents, is able, thus, to plan further activities and learning, when compiling the placement portfolio taking into consideration content and layout requirements;
- follows the code of conduct and the practical customs of the placement organisation, follows the criteria of professional ethics, cooperates with the supervisors and with other people involved in the placement.
