Course aims

To give an overview of the 20th-century literary movements and the most important literary works.

Brief description of the course

During the course literary works by following authors will be analysed:
M. de Unamuno, Azorín, P. Baroja, Ortega y Gasset, J.R. Jiménez, P. Salinas, J.Guillén, F. García Lorca, V. Aleixandre, L. Cernuda, C. J. Cela, J. Goytisolo, M. Delibes, C. Rojas, J. A. Valente and others.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
An ability to express knowledge on the most prominent 20th-century Spanish prose writers and poets and analyse literary work with linguistic and semiotic methods. An ability to distinguish between the styles of the most important writers of the 20th-century spanish literature.
