Course aims
The course aims at developing senisitivity towards the poetics of the translational text, i.e. view it as a coherent unit with its structure and expressive means in a specific context. The student is able to recognize the dependancy of poetics on lingusitic and historical circumsatances.
Brief description of the course
The concept of poetics. The language of art. Poetics versus theory. Translation poetics in poetry. Rhythm in poetry and in prose. The individuality and historicity of poetics.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The student can estimate the artistic potential of a text in the poetic fields of the source and the target culture.
