Course aims
A comparative overview of Catalan and Basque literature in the 20th century and nowadays.
Brief description of the course
Through lectures the course will provide a comparative overview of Catalan and Basque literature in the 20th century and nowadays. The question of national identity. The borders of Catalan- and Basque-speaking territy. The influence of the sociopolitical context on literature. An overview of earlier Basque and Catalan literature.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
-Systematical knowledge on the 20th-century Catalan and Basque literature;
-The capability to evaluate the sociopolitical situation of the Basque and Catalan languages.
