Course aims

The objective of the course is to systematically study the structure of the English sentence and the use of punctuation marks according to the requirements of practical written language. The course is designed for students with a minor in English.

Brief description of the course

A systematic overview of the structure of the contemporary English sentence. Syntax: types of sentences, parts of the sentence, clauses, the syntactic analysis of sentences. The use of punctuation marks: full stop, question mark, exclamation point, capital letter and apostrophe, comma, semicolon, colon and dash, punctuation marks in reported speech.
