Course aims
To create the prerequisites for acquiring language skills in the Finnish spoken and written B1.1 according to CEFR levels Create preconditions for coping with everyday familiar situations, such as conversations about work, university and hobbies. To develop the ability to search material from a Finnish source on relevant topics. To improve the learner's knowledge of Finnish culture and society.
Brief description of the course
Integrated development of skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing) at B1.1 level. The student develops skills to plan and produce simpler text, to read and to refer to the literature of his / her own level, to practice different reading strategies. Work with simpler Finnish-language press texts, films and books. The learner's competence in Finnish culture and society will be developed.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the main on a topic familiar to him, understands the content of slow and clear broadcasts;
- understands simpler, straightforward texts, in the longer texts understand the main idea;
- can write a text on a familiar or interesting topic;
- is able to describe experiences, events, dreams, goals and express his / her views, explain and justify his / her views and plans by using simple language tools;
- has knowledge of Finnish culture and society and has studied a particular field of interest.
