Brief translations of texts from different areas.
Brief description of the course
The course is delivered in the form of seminars and as practical translation exercises. Typical translation problems of different areas. Translation process, quality of translation, functions of the texts. Translation strategies.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
As the result of classroom activities the student can find a suitable strategy for translating less complicated texts and finding relevant information. Student is able to translate simple texts, student knows were to find background information and how to use it.
