Course aims
Knowledge of the contemporary Finnish society and culture.
Brief description of the course
Finland in today's society. Old and new minorities in Finland (Finnish Swedes, Lapps, Jewish, Tatar, and immigrants). Finnish customs, holidays and celebration (Christmas, Easter, family events, national anniversaries). Folklore and Kalevala. Meaning of the Kalevala in Finland today.
