Course aims
To provide an overview of the contemporary theories of
an informed society/data-driven society and the
challenges that technological development presents to
society. A preparatory course for the upcoming course on
data analysis scheduled for the autumn semester.
Brief description of the course
The formation of an informed society and its
technological prerequisites, its theoretical concepts and
present-day outputs. The principles of creating modern
databases and their functions in society. Preparing for the
autumn course on data analysis: Possibilities of using the
artificial intelligence technology in data analysis.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to identify and formulate the problems in an informed society and to ask research questions to solve them;
- can formulate the prerequisites for artificial intelligence work and also know the limitations of this technology.
