Course aims

The purpose is to provide the knowledge about theory and concepts of screenwriting with understanding the basic principles of this creative process. Students will develop their abilities in visual storytelling and also the critical skills they need to analyze films and understand the medium in its variety.

Brief description of the course

The course introduces theory and concepts of the screenwriting. It is designed to offer students theoretical knowledge and understanding of basic principles and crucial questions of writing for the screen. Writing assignments will give an experience about the creative aspects of the writing process throw the main stages of it.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has acquired theory and concepts of screenwriting, also knowledge, comprehension;
- understands of crucial principles for writing a script.
