Course aims
The aim of this course is to expose the student to the fundamentals of labour law and the law of publik service through formal lecture followed by reading and analysis of actual cases. This course emphasizes the fundamental principles of labour law and publik service. The course employs the Socratic method wherein the students will read cases, prepare written briefs analyzing the case, present the brief orally and discuss the primary issues of law found in the case. The course emphasizes written analysis, oral argument and oral presentation
Brief description of the course
Fundamentals of labour regulation. Labour contract, its relation to the law of obligations. Formation, execution and termination of labour contract Entering into an employment contract, wages, working and rest time, holidays, terminating an employment contract. Employee’s responsibility. Fixed term and other contracts. Public service. The differences from labour relations.

Upon completing the course the student:

should know labour regulation in Estonia; applications of Labour law, the principles of labor and public service relations, is able to find information in these regulations independently from Internet sources
