Course aims
Discusses Estonian medieval art and architecture in a wider context and from different viewpoints.
Brief description of the course
Analysis of medieval art as a source for understanding earlier history. What role did art play in the life of a contemporary person? How was art looked at, seen and perceived? How was an artifact located in the sacred and secular buildings and in urban space, and what was its purpose?
