in which new technological development, innovative thinking and an understanding of the changing market environment that poses new challenges and opportunities are crucial. It also aims at introducing conceptual, reflective and critical thinking on current issues related to media and journalism - also as a preparation for a possible academic career. With a unique combination of both teaching in theories and concepts as well as in content production, students are able to choose their focus depending on their interests and future career options.

- has an understanding of the media ecosystem (history, current and future developments, various actors and institutions, structure and regulation)

- has an understanding of media innovations (their role for and influence on the media ecosystem)
- is able to identify and create interdisciplinary connections and bridge the business side of the media with the production side of it
- knows the theoretical development trends, current problems and potential applications in the context of contemporary media
- has knowledge of and is able to master various forms of journalistic writing and content production in both news and entertainment (from news and information gathering to news and information production, also technical and cross-media production skills)

which includes passing all compulsory courses and compiling and defending the Master’s thesis or the TV production work. Students who have not graduated from upper secondary schools where Estonian is the language of instruction, or who have graduated from schools where Estonian is only partly the language of instruction, are required to have Estonian language proficiency at C1 level. Students are required to pass during the studies at least one course which uses a foreign language as the language of instruction.
